While Sunday's "Brexit means Exit" rally in London passed off peacefully with no reports of any violence from the Brexit supporters, the counter protesters clashed with police and there were three arrests. One for a public order offence, one for assault and one for possession of an offensive weapon.
The counter protesters, organised by Jeremy Corbyn supporting Labour group Momentum and a number of anti-fascist organisations, began their protest outside the BBC Headquarters at Portland Place under the banner “No to Tommy Robinson; No to Fortress Britain”. They took a different route to the Brexit supporters and the violence took place away from the main march.
